Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

from Santa Baby EP by Lex Land

/

about

This Christmas classic, originally penned by Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane, was introduced to the masses by Judy Garland in MGM's 1944 musical film "Meet Me in St. Louis." After Garland released it as a single that year, it rose in popularity among troops serving in WWII. Frank Sinatra reprised it with some updated lyrics, but here you'll hear Lex sing Judy's original Christmas standard.

lyrics

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
let your heart be light
next year all our troubles will be out of sight
Have yourself a merry little Christmas
make the yuletide gay
next year all our troubles will be miles away

once again as in olden days
happy golden days of yore
faithful friends who are dear to us
gather near to us once more

someday soon we all will be together
if the fates allow
but 'til then we'll have to muddle through somehow
so have yourself a merry little Christmas now
